これは1984年、アフリカの飢餓救済に立ち上がった英国を中心とするスター歌手達が、ボランティアで集いレコーディングしたものだ。
その豪華な顔ぶれと歌声は、世界中で話題となり、この波はアメリカに渡り「We are the world」が生まれた。
